Evolution of Biomolecular Structure
A Symposium on current topics at the interface of molecular and
computational biology and bioinformatics
Vienna, 25-27 May 2006
Welcome to the EBSV06

The Austrian Chemical Society
and the Institute of
Theoretical Chemistry of the University of Vienna present the
Symposium on Evolution of Biomolecular Structure, to be held
in Vienna from 25 to 27 May 2006.
This meeting is intended to provide an overview over recent
progress in the field, and in particular to demonstrate the
important contributions of bioinformatics and computational biology
to the understanding of the principles of molecular evolution.
EBSV06 is dedicated to Professor Peter Schuster on the
occasion of his 65th birthday
The Symposium will be held at the University of Vienna. It will
feature eleven plenary lectures and a summary presented by Peter
Schuster. In addition there will be contributed talks and a poster
session.
Invited speakers:
- Manfred Eigen (MPI Göttingen, Germany)
- Walter Fontana (Harvard University, USA)
- Robert Giegerich (University Bielefeld, Germany)
- Alexander Hüttenhofer (Innsbruck Medical University -
Biocenter, Austria)
- Josef Penninger (Institute of Molecular Biotechnology, Vienna,
Austria)
- Rudolf Rigler (Karolinska Institute, Stockholm, Sweden)
